A taut thriller and a meditation on anti-Semitism and the Catholic Church’s role in fostering this insidious disease。 I also love the dry humor that infuses the book。

Good but a bit too contrived。

Solid entry in the Gabriel Allon series。

Traditional Silva。 Captivating to the end。 Like spending time with old friends as it had been a while since I'd read an Allon tory and I read #21 prior to this and didn't like it as much although it was good。 Traditional Silva。 Captivating to the end。 Like spending time with old friends as it had been a while since I'd read an Allon tory and I read #21 prior to this and didn't like it as much although it was good。 。。。more

A lesson in ancient ‘history’This book gives you lessons on the Bible, the various gospels and gives you a reason for the ‘enmity’ between the Christians and the Jews。 It takes you through the intrigues that go on within the Vatican and election of a new pope。 In the midst of all this iOS Gabriel Allon!

Another great Gabriel Allon novel! Return to the Vatican, so it ties to several earlier books, but can be read alone。 Interesting evolution of Gabriel and his team with some of the typical traits。 Fun elements you don't see coming, but great story。 One of my favorite in the series。 Another great Gabriel Allon novel! Good plot, good thrilling feelings, as usual。Nonetheless, for a espionage thriller, it felt to be a book to connect the history for upcoming volumes。

Very interesting ~ I have read and watched history channels regarding this issue ~ that the Pope had assisted the SS IN IDENTIFYING Jews

I hesitated to leave a 2-star rating for a Daniel Silva book, but I did not like The Order。 I have read every book Silva has written since The Unlikely Spy and have enjoyed them。 I do think, however, that the author strayed too far into world theologies。 I appreciate that Silva is of the Jewish faith, which is a significant ingredient of the Gabriel Allon series, and I respect that religion and the horrendous sufferings of the Jews。 That said, I hope that in future the author will continue writi I hesitated to leave a 2-star rating for a Daniel Silva book, but I did not like The Order。 I have read every book Silva has written since The Unlikely Spy and have enjoyed them。 I do think, however, that the author strayed too far into world theologies。 I appreciate that Silva is of the Jewish faith, which is a significant ingredient of the Gabriel Allon series, and I respect that religion and the horrendous sufferings of the Jews。 That said, I hope that in future the author will continue writing exciting thrillers without offering his theories on the Christian Bible or the life of my savior, Jesus Christ。 。。。more

Amongst the most enjoyable sub-genres of the Allon series are the Vatican novels, which are completely distinct from the usual globe-encompassing settings, in which Allon battles the Russians, Saudis, various enemies of Israel。 The closeted and insular world of the Vatican, the courtly intrigue, and Allon's personal equations with the mighty at the Church make this set the best of the series。 Amongst the most enjoyable sub-genres of the Allon series are the Vatican novels, which are completely distinct from the usual globe-encompassing settings, in which Allon battles the Russians, Saudis, various enemies of Israel。 The closeted and insular world of the Vatican, the courtly intrigue, and Allon's personal equations with the mighty at the Church make this set the best of the series。 。。。more

Another good thriller by Silva。 Interesting look into the Catholic Church and the Vatican, even though so much is fiction。 I always love Gabriel Allen’s adventures。

Gabriel is Jewish art restorer and legendary spy。 In the search for a lost gospel, this book shows the history between the Catholic Church and its relationship with Jews。 It was jarring as I read about some of the history。 This was a very in-lighting book and it made me think。 I will most likely read it again after looking into the information it shows。 As always this Danial Silva book it is a great read。

Couldn’t finish。 Stuck on chapter 3 and couldn’t go on。 It may be because I’m not feeling this genre at this particular moment。

。。。more

This is the first Daniel Silva book i have read & frankly am not sure I’d read another one。 I thought it was extremely slow & had an obvious agenda。 The story had great possibilities, but I felt he concentrated more on his agenda than on making a good thriller。 I would not recommend this book。

I was so disappointed by this novel, the 20th in the “Gabriel Allon” series by Daniel Silva。 The plot is predictable and the cast of characters is wooden and stale。 Mr。 Silva should have ended the series several novels ago, but I am taking it upon myself to end it now for me。 Gabriel is retired, living in Italy and raising his kids with his wife。 The end。
